interview

Matt: Who thought up the name of the band? How did it come about?

Josh: I came up with it. The idea was to come up with an obscure and weird name that would grab someone's attention and they would say "what the hell is this" Also to take something obscure and make it common has always been a theme of my life

Matt: Touring? Like it, dislike it, why?

Josh: Likes: Driving all night, Meeting new people, playing every night in totally different environments. We can go from playing in front of 500 people to playing in front of 20 and both shows are just as memorable to me. My only dislike is when it is over ok and booking tours - I hate that shit!

Matt: Recording? Do you think it is a fun experience, or a sucky piece of suck?

Josh: I personally am not to fond of the recording process. Our bassist John LOVES it. The only part I like is going in with all my ideas and then hearing the finished product. The middle can drive me to near suicide!

Matt: Maximum Rock n' Roll, do you like it, or is it getting old?

Josh: MRR is good. I still use "Book your own fucking life". My old band, No class' crowning achievement was getting a 2 page Interview in MRR about 4 years ago. I haven't picked up a copy of MRR in about 3 years though. It shows the simple DIY side of the "Music Business" That anyone can do it - which is a good thing.

Matt: Blink-182 and Limp Bizkit, What do you think of em'?

Josh: I like Blink, have since cheesier cat (how cliche do I sound) I could do without limp bizkit. Although I have to say that I catch myself knodding my head when I hear a few of their rockin songs.

Matt: The movie Summer of Sam, Have you heard of it? If so don't you think it is the coolest movie?

Josh: You know I haven't seen that - Being someone that sees EVERY movie you think I would have seen it but I haven't - Now Labamba
that's a movie!

Matt: Who does what in the band, and the age of you instruments?

Josh: "Hey Matt - we have no idea - haha - I play an American fender strat with an EMG 85 pickup - John plays a Yamaha bass (wanna buy him a good one?) and Kevin pounds on Pearl Export drums"

Matt: Any closing remarks, plugs, advice for the readers?

Josh: Come see us on tour all summer. Check out www.sloppymeateaters.com for any and all info you could possibly need about us! I Would also like to say that the new Weezer album is amazing and Axl Rose needs to hurry up and release the new Guns N Roses Double Disc - I have been waiting for TO long - thanks for doing the interview
