Interview

Note: This interview is with Ryan of Kung-Fu Rick.

Stupid Stuff: How would you describe your music?

Ryan: The music is fast and angry when you see us live or if you play the records correctly. However, if you play the records backwards you will be serenaded with satanic messages about killing your parents or something along those lines. We get a lot of lawsuits because of that shit.

SS: Who is “Kung-Fu Rick”?

Ryan: Kung-Fu Rick was this old man that always use to flash me when I was 12 or 13 hanging out with the “Break Your Face Crew 94” at Walgreen’s. Rumor has it that he lit himself on fire while lighting a cigarette. He has a pretty nice body for an old guy.

SS: How many other bands are you in right now?

Ryan: A whole slew of them. Authority Abuse is going on there third or forth year of slogan chanting; while The Tale of Genji are making their way to their first birthday. However, my first band, Tobucdet is still alive. Seven years strong and you can take that to the bank.

SS: What are some of your influences?

Ryan: Raisins, prunes, and various juices that cause me to burst into a frantic outrage of psychotic energy stemming from the rectal region. I’m also influenced by spell check and windows 98’. Remarkable, just remarkable.

SS: What is the best thing that has happened to you at one of your shows?

Ryan: My ears lost their virginity at the tender age of 15 when someone yelled, “I’m going to fist your asshole,” I don’t think I have ever been the same.

SS: Favorite color?

Ryan: The only color, orange. OK, a little black here and there.

SS: Do you think there is a point to these questions?

Ryan: Yes, you’re probing my inner intelligence and I’m responding with ear candy for the readers.

SS: What do you do outside of all your bands?

Ryan: Play a couple games of tennis here and there. Shoot the shit with the “Break Your Face 94 Crew” at the local donut shop. Listen to various 80’s metal at high volumes.

SS: Do you like to break stuff when you get real mad? (Example: the phone rings and you don’t like it, then you break it.)

Ryan: Well I am part of the “Break Your Face 94 Crew” So I guess I do break people faces for a living.

SS: 1+1 is ?

Ryan: See, you’re probing my inner intelligence and I’ll respond with a blazing 2.

SS: Any last remarks?

Ryan: Just wanted to say thanks a lot for the interview. I wish you and your zine the best of luck in the future Matt. If anybody would like to contact us you can do through
